When I refinished my shotguns' stocks I then faced the fun part of getting everything back together and working with no left-over parts.
Since I put all the metal parts for each one in its own plastic tub I didn't have to worry about mixing them up.
I did have to fit several pieces as the Tru-Oil built up and tightened up the fit. But I knew this was coming and remembered what my Daddy taught me, " If it's too tight you ain't using a big enough hammer."
Since this was the first fitting of everything I had some stock bedding that got where it didn't need to be and things like that. The 30 minute job turned into an all-morning event but nothing caused major headaches.
Would I do it again? Probably will and probably on these guns. I feel much better about this but would hate to take some of those aftermarket stocks going for around $300-400 and end up with a bunch of small, very expensive toothpicks. Figure if I every get to that I've have done a goodly number before then.
