First one this fall.

Went out to sit in a tree this afternoon after work & this time I got a doe.
Different spot than the other day & she was alone.
Actually she was kinda begging to fill my freezer. It was getting chilly & all I had on was a tee shirt so I got down & went to the truck for a sweat shirt & when I got back I spooked her. Kinda thought I blew it but decided to sit awhile anyway & as soon as I got back in my stand I saw her bout 50 yards out looking for me. She walked all the way round me with her nose in the air & then decided it was safe & started feeding back towards me. Got about 25 yards away & gave me a nice quatering away shot & I took it. She went all of about 50 feet & crashed into some dead fallen branches, did a couple flip flops & lay still.
Here she is. Not a huge deer by any means but I take what I can get with a bow.

Nice work !!

I see nothing but good tasting backstraps, myself

Killing a deer for meat is what it is all about anyway, right? Horns are just a bonus...

Agreed, antlers are not real good eatin.  :)   Honestly I'm tickled every time I put a tag on a deer, big, small, fat or tall dont much matter IMHO.
