I think Timney is the way to go. I have one installed on a Compact that "breaks" at 2 lbs 1 oz.
However, if I was to go this route again, I would try the follwing first. Brownell sells a reduced power return spring which I would install. While I had the trigger/sear disassembled, I would polish up the sear/trigger contact surfaces with 400 or finer grit sandpaper or a polishing compound in a Dremel.
The spring from Brownell's is about 4 bucks.
Do a search under "scoutman" . There's a thread back there which discusses this whole situation, and one person's personal experience on the installation of the Timney. Sorry I can't remember the thread.
