What do I have

I bought this rifle from my cousin, I dont know where he got it and he doesnt know what it is either. It's a marlin single shot  bolt action .22. Theres no model#, or serial# on this gun. The only thing on this gun is "Marlin Firearms Co. New Haven,Conn. 22 S-L-LR.
 I would like to know the history on this thing if possible

Need some more info please! What type of stock? Is it wood, and does it have any particular markings or finger grooves, etc? Tubular mag, or clip? Any ring or peculiar shape to the back of the bolt?
