Another Savage ID needed
« on: June 03, 2003, 02:18:09 AM »
I recently ran into a 99C that appeared to be in very good shape, both wood and metal, in 7mm08.  I didn't realize that Savage even made 7mm08's in their model 99's.  It listed for $449 with a set of see-thru rings attached.  Good price?  A fellow on 24 Hr Campfire said that these guns in excellent shape bring high prices.  Is that correct?

Thanx, Krag2

Krag2 :  Without seeing the rifle the only thing I can do is quote from the bookin various conditions:  The 99c was a newer model similar to the 99f, it was made from 1965-1995 then disc. it came in these cal. 22-250/243/284/7-08/308 and had a 4 shot detachable mag, now to the value if 100% $525 then 98% $430 then 95% $365 90% $300 so with those being of the upper conditions pick one out and you will be close on the price, the older 99s have a little higher value. :D   JIM

That is a n excellent price.I just paid $750.00 for a M99C in 22/250.I have 15 M99s  right now and have had over a 100 thru the years.Even though the M99c was made for 30 years. Here is what really matters, the 7MM/08 was only made from 1981-84.So it is fairly rare, jump on it!
