I don't own a .460 Weatherby YET(the right one at the right price hasn't come along) but I am using the Barnes TSX bullets in my .450 Rigby, which is just a footstep behind the .460 Weatherby velocity wise.  They are giving me my best accuracy so far and I am looking forward to trying the new Barnes Banded Solids as soon as I can get my hands on some.  Lawdog

thanks lawdog. I have access to Barnes since they are a sponsor of my show. I load mostly Triple shocks in .300WBY and .375 UM. I also load 375 grain spitzers in .500 S&W and soon we'll be loading .45/70. 243 Akely, 25.06, and .444 marlins. The guy who loads for me turned me on to this site and says he's anxious to see me shoot the .460. He also says since the .460 has twice the muzzle enrgy of a .458 Win Mag we should download the .460 a bit. I purchased a Lead Sled today just for this gun. There's a chance we'll get to help control some "problem" Elephants this year, hence the big gun.

I load for the 460WBY.

I use Barnes X 500gr. and 500gr. Solid.

Still haven't done anything with 600gr. Barnes O bullets yet but will over there summer.

we should download the .460 a bit.

Be VERY careful down loading this critter. You can and will blow yourself up if you go to far (more so than other catridges) PLEASE PLEASE use GREAT CATION when you down load for this cartridge.

Also something to note. If you plan on hunting DG at close ranges 100 yards and in using the Barnes X , or Swift A Frames keep muzzle velocity below or at 2400fps.

I spent allot of phone time talking to tecks at both places. These bullets aren't meant to give MAXIUME penetration expansion above 2400fps at the ranges mentioned above.

If you didn't know the 460WBY can shove a 500gr. bullet at 2650fps.(thatÂ’s book call out)

If you have any question PM me. I have done allot of research and spent way more money than my wife cares to talk about on load development on this particular cartridge.

I have load data for 300gr-500gr. bullets for the 460WBY in a Weatherby Mark V Deluxe.

Recently I sent a check to Blaserman(biggameman) for
a box of .460 WBY shells. My check cleared the bank on
5-6 but he never sent the cartridges. I can't find a phone
number for him but I do have his mailing address, and the
cancelled check with his banks phone number and account
number. Has anyone out there dealt with him before and
have a phone number or comment?

I did finally get the .460 cartridges just before I left for Africa and
quite some time affer my check cleared the bank. If I'd had Blasermans
complete contact info and if he'd answered the messages and emails
there wouldn't have been a problem.
