Remington model 7 stock problem
« on: May 20, 2005, 10:04:08 AM »
I did it again.  I took something good and screwed it up.  I have a model 7 with a factory syn. stock.  I thought it would be neat to have a camouflaged stock, so I purchased a factory camo stock for Cabela's.  I listed my old stock on ebay and sold it.  I finally get around to going to the range and my rifle with its pet loads is spraying  bullets like a Ak-47.  I dropped it off at my gunsmith this morning.  He said it was a definite bedding problem.  I feel like a real dipsh*t.  I guess that is what my dad meant when told me to "leave well enough alone".  I really like the looks of the new stock.  I did not have any rifles wearing stainless and camouflage.   I just hope my gunsmith can restore the accuracy I once had.

Cheer up, it's nothing a good glass bedding job won't fix. It may even be nothing more than the action screws not being tight enough.
