Where is the best barometer of Bear bow prices?
« on: August 16, 2004, 06:10:58 PM »
I have an excellent condition Bear Kodiak Hunter 60", 55#@28" recurve and have been keeping it around as a backup to my custom takedown recurve.  But now am wondering if I should consider retiring it or selling it if it is worth something.  Are there any websites that would be good resources on its worth?  Bowsite, etc...

Thanks for any input!

ebay.   it really doesnt matter what any book says, it is what folks will actually pay.  and when it comes to that i cant think of anything more telltale than ebay.  look at other bows like yours and see what they are selling for.  that should give you about as good an idea as any.

 I sold one like you just described on Ebay for @ $135 a few months ago.. You can probably get a pretty good custom takedown on Ebay for about that and use it for your backup.. cbagman

You ought to just keep the bow. If you store it properly it will last for years and will only increase in value. Before ebay became real popular you could pick up older bows for pretty cheap. Now you can spend a lot on a good used bow. I'd keep the bow, you can't do any worse for a factory made bow than a Bear. Worm
