CMK3 in Montana

I just got some pix into the album and I thought I'd share.  The First is me and my Sportster 17HMR.  My partner, Craig took the photos.  We walked in to this spot which is about 500 yds from the gravel road that gives access to the huge feild you see in the distance in shot #2.  You have to know this spot is there it can't be seen from the road.  The hills in the background are about 1500 yds away.  The dun-colored patches in the mid-ground are PD mounds.  This town covers several square miles and is very densly populated in spots.

Just a little tease to whet the appetite!

To bad we can't get a northern location shoot. I want to attend the prairie dog shoot but now there is the Quigley match in Montana just about ten days after the OK shoot. I don't think I can make them both. :(
shot placement is everything.

Patience.  Jerry is workin' on it.

There's a bunck of us planning to visit with Jerry at his place right around the time the Quigley is scheduled for.  If I can get the week of 6/20 I'll be there too.

MTJerry,

Let them out town boys have all those prairie dogs.  It keeps them out of our gophers.   If they ever find out about gophers they won't even slow down for a prairie dog.

I wish I could find a decent Prairie Dog town near me  :(   !!!!!   All of my good PD towns are in Wyoming where I used to live.

All we got around here are the gophers (Richardson Ground Squirrels) ... but that really makes no difference to me.

The only difference is the availibility of long-range shots.  Gophers don't eat the vegitation down like PD's do.  That lack of vegitation is what makes PD's such fun at long distances.

By the way ... the gophers are ALREADY coming out!!!!!!!!  We have had a TERRIBLE winter!  VERY LITTLE cold, and/or snow .... looks like the drought is gonna get worse this year.

I know guys from here in Jamestown that go over to the ND Montana border near Kennedy and shoot dogs.
shot placement is everything.
