New (used) barrel
« on: February 14, 2005, 06:26:54 PM »
Just bought a 270 standard barrel off Ebay.  I guess you get what you pay for.  Something that wasn't in the description were the tightly packed rings that were just behind where the rifling begins.  Don't know if they are several (3) rings or one larger ring.  Don't want to make it sound like it's a huge ring but very noticeable.  Its funny that the rifling doesn't look effected, just the lands.  Should I be worried?  Trying to get my money back but if that doesn't work is there something TC will do?

I did try cleaning it several times and nothing.  Just wondering!

Thanks,

Josh

All I can say is give T/C a call and see what they recommend.

Well I just talked with TC and they wanted me to send it in, stating that it didn't seem it was something that was normal.

GB, I understand that your not happy with them...and by all means your intitled to your opinion.  I'm guessing you have some very valid reasons.

So I'm going to wait and form an opinion separately on this matter.  Hopefully they'll see if it's something that doesn't belong and fix whatever the problem is.
