The more folks start buying them...the higher the price will go...it's still hard to beat Walley Worlds prices...$233.00 for the ultras...but I've seen used Ultras going for $250-$280 here in St.Louis...in all the standard calibers...I saw a  used 444 once going for $325...it lasted less than a day on the dealers rack...I want one...but not that bad

Actually, the more people who buy them, the price should go down (so long as there's not some unusually surge in demand).  As the factories have to produce more, they can get materials in bulk for cheaper.  Cost to manufacture goes down.

I think this is simply the all too common case of gun show price gouging.  I've not seen a thing besides powder and ammo that's priced even remotely reasonable at gun shows.  May be they just expect people to talk them down.  Maybe they're looking for suckers.  Either way, I've given up on gun shows.

Yup, my .223 Ultra was $239 a year ago.....Cheatermk3 found a NIB Buff Classic at the gunshow yesterday for $329! I know WM sells em for $285, but no one has been able to get one there for quite some time and Sports South shows them as out of stock.....Mines on order for $343 delivered to my hot little handi hands!! Gunshow would have cost me $8 plus parking, so I did ok, just have to wait a while......

Greensboro gun show today I saw several tables with Handi's ranging from 195.00 to 249.00 depending on the caliber. I had an iron sighted 30/30 in my hands for about 5 minutes doing the bills or a gun debate before the dealer made me put it back unless I was going to buy it.

You guys of all people should understand where the dealer is coming from.

He's obviously a Handi-holic and just cannot bear to part with it.  :)

The last purchase I did at a show was a brick of .17 HMR shells for $67. I thought that was excellent, but CAL Ranch stores sell them for $5.99 a box as the standard price. Usually I can get them for $9 a box at the gun store, so I thought that was pretty good.
Ohhhh, I hate when that happens

I picked up my NEF 25-06 from Gander Mountain Friday. It's not the Ultra. Gander Mt sold it to me for the WalMart price of $187.72 which is $5 less than GMs cost for the rifle.

I am glad someone else feels the way I do.   A friend and I really used to enjoy going to gunshows.  I really get tried of some of the dealers with wore out pieces of S..T, wanting new prices.   A guy would have to be completely stupid to buy them.  Secondly, it makes me so mad I just walk away, no use to even make an offer.  It insults a smart person's intelligence.  I have noticed usually these guys are the ones complaining how bad the gunshow was and how they didn't make any money.  Gez, go figure!
