Back from Vacation
« on: February 01, 2005, 04:15:48 AM »
Well the vacation was nice, but I did not get to go into the SCI Convention as they were flat out charging to much for enterance into the show, just to see sellers and guides for hunts both domestic and abroad.

On Tuesday it was $400.00 at the door daily, and by Friday it was $125.00 for the day.  Now if you wanted something to eat while in the convention....    2 corndogs and a can of coke $13.50 and that was a cheap meal.  The table price for each dealer there was $2500.00 but that is the price of doing business and its a write off.

I went to Sportsman's Warehouse instead    no charge at the door.  Heck I saw some real nice art, camping gear, knives from many companies, nice camo wear, fly fishing stuff, regular fishing stuff, reloading items and of course great buys on guns.

Of course I didn't buy anything because of the sales tax they charge in Nevada.  We don't have any sales tax here in Montana, so I will go to the Sportsman's Warehouse in Missoula, Mt next week when I am down there.

AS I figured the type of sportsman that they want at the SCI Convention are the type that can book several safari's in Africa and other places like one hunter did, spending $500,000.00

What got me was the logo for SCI.... "SCI for the hunter"... Right!  :x

They have always seemed to me...to be an eletist organization...catering to the rich...and to only those that can afford the very best...or at least the most expensive hunts and firearms...well...one good thing at least came out of your vacation...at least you made it back safe... :D

Welcome back!

"SCI for the hunter"...   Only left off one word...."Rich".

Did ya ever get a chance to shoot those anchors I sent ya?  Wondering how they did with someone elses rifle.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!

Handirifle

I haven't had the chance to get out with them yet, but hope to real soon.  Our weather here has been on the high side lately and shooting weather has been much better.

I will have some free time in several weeks and will get into some load development with those at that time.  I am looking forward to seeing just how accurate they are with Goex FFg  :-D
