Do H&R/NEF make a tang sight for the BC or do you need to get one from someplace else?

NEF does not sell a tang sight.  Got mine and had it installed by Lee Shaver

Hmm... I see he didn't inlet it.  Have you done much shooting with it?  Any good/bad observations you'd like to share?  I'm looking at either that one or the barrel mounted ladder site from Smith.

I'm sitting up here this morning can't sleep its 3:33 AM, what a better place to be.

Here are a couple of Lee Shaver Tang Intetting pics of the same Buffalo Classic.  The sight on the Buffalo Classic is the Deluxe Long Range Soule Sight that he sells.

Here is a pic of where I had my Williams Buckhorn sight placement, and eventually ended up with the 1879 Springfield Trapdoor sight installed just forward where this buckhorn sight is on the barrel.  You can also see my tang base mount still in place on the wrist of the stock.

I guess tang mounted sights are not that unusual on a break open rifle.....I found this while surfin around...I have no clue what caliber it is....from the looks of the chamber...it's big though!

I was looking at a photo site of The Quigley Compitition that The Montanan listed a while back...they were other albums on the site and that pic was in it...there wasn't a caption or any other info with the photo... :(  It is interesting though... did you check out the 4 digit serial number on the side of the receiver... or maybe its a date????

Haywire,
Actually he DID inlet it.  He inletted a seperate piece of steel, cut to the contours of the receiver, into the wrist of the stock.  He then drilled and tapped hole for the sight.  That way I could remove the sight without messing up the stock.  Plus it always returned to the exact same place as before.

His work was first rate, the metal matched the receiver, and the fit to the stock was flawless.

I shot it quite a bit before I sold it (Yes I know, BIG mistake) but it was hard for my eyes to see the sights sometimes.  My prob, not the guns.
