rossi puma m92 feeding prob.
« on: January 27, 2005, 04:12:17 PM »
hi guys! i have a feeding problem with my .357 puma.
the cartrige comes out of the mag. tube and somtimes gets stuck between the bolt and the thing that lifts the cartrige up into line with the bore. there is a small wedge shaped tab on the back of it, but it looks to be too short.
it doesn,t matter what bullet i,m using but it happens more for .357 brass than .38 special.
this gun was tuned for cowboy action, and is sure slick and smooth! with a great trigger, and is plenty accurate. but i need it to feed better, so i can trust it to hunt with!!
 thank you for any help.

Would it be possible to return it to the guy that did the action work for repair?

Hi Doc!
I bought the gun from a shop. it was allready slicked up. the guy did a great job! this gun has the best trigger i ever seen on a lever gun! it breaks at 1 3/4 lbs. and the action is very smooth! i dont know the extent of the modifications, and have my fingers crossed that it was done right!
the gun shoots great! it will shoot two inch groups at 100yds with the 158gr jhp,s and allmost that good with 185gr cast bullets.
it has a lyman tang sight, and a scout scope mount on the barrel, that holds a leupold 2x pistole scope. the groups open up a little with the tang sight but not much! given that this a 150yard gun, it is plenty accurate!
i once shot some unmarket 140gr jhp,s that were real accurate! i was shooting with a burris 2-7 scope and the groups were nudging one inch!
the bullets were in a diffrent box, i,m not even sure where they came from but they shot really well! i wish i could figure out what they were.
 thanks for the help Doc!
