I had to send my .243 SS back to H&R(front barrel lug looked like someone had taken a ginder to it, the gun was shipped out new like that?). I was considering getting an 30-06 barrel while it was there. I was wondering how you guys 30-06 handis kicked. I have owned several 300 mags so it will not be a big issue. I was thinking of a bad experience I had with a Browning 30-06 A-bolt. I was 18 yrs old and bought a wood stocked, hard butt plated rifle. I went to sight it in and fired the rifle 18 times. Later that night, I had to go to the emergency room because my shoulder was swelling so bad. My dad and brother fired that rifle and said "it is the worst damn thing I have ever seen". Since then I have owned many rifles but it makes we curious when I of the that 30-06. Probably luck of the draw but I will send own another A-bolt in the same configuration.
