Howdy
I am from Green County Indiana and most of my family still lives there. Anyway on your question, I have never heard of any being found in the park itself but that does not mean it has not or is not still there. I do know that Brown county has some gold and even a couple of mines I do believe. I know some has even been found in Green county also long time ago.
If you do say a goggle search of "Finding Gold in Indiana" you will find a few different things on it. Just took a fast look myself and it came up with a lot of things. Here is one that might help you out some, http://www.treasurefish.com/indiana%20metal%20detecting.htm

Hope this helps you out some.

Here is a link; you may have to type it in.  Clicking on the GPAA (Gold Propector Association of America) shield will take you to their main page.  Each state has its own chapter.

should be some, even if only minor, quatities of gold in your neck of the woods.  Good luck Beaver.

Micahn,
I grew up around Owensburg and poked around a lot of the Green County hollers when I was a youngun.  Went to the old Owensburg school before it burned down.  Married a gal from Eastern hs and worked at Crane for 27 years.  Probly know some of your kin folk.
