I'm going to buy a stainless bolt action in .308. What do you think of the following:

Weatherby Vanguard Stainless
Ruger MII All Weather
Remington 700 SPS Stainless

All fine rifles!  Beware of the tupperware stock on the Ruger!  They are not very stable in temperature extemes from my experience.

Thanks, guys. I'm leaning toward the Remington (I already have a Vanguard in .300 W).
Does anyone know if Remington has discontinued the J-Lock safety?

I've got a Ruger 77 MKII stainless/syn in 7mm08 and it gets abused
I've also had the Ruger in 270 and 7mmRem Mag( stainless/syn)
and I have NEVER had a problem with the stocks.

Thanks for the info. I put money down on the Remington today. By the way, no more J-Locks on the 700.
