:D
Bought a Ruger 77 RSI (International) in .308 Winchester a couple of months ago. I installed a New England Custom Gun (NECG) peep sight. Actually, install is the wrong word, as it screws into the integral receiver scope ring fittings. I carried it for a couple of days in the field during deer season.
Some remarks on this little rifle if I may.
1] It is light and extremely well balanced.
2] The rifle shoulders nicely and presents the sight picture with no need to move around and hunt for a proper sight picture presentation.
3] My rifle is capable of 1 1/2 to 2 inch groups at 100 yards with the peep sights.
4] I like the safety for its 3 position capability and placement.
5] I like the execution of the forestock cap, no need to drift the front sight off to remove this cap as on some other similarly configured rifles.
6] I like the forend sling attachment, it is quiet and positive.
The only thing I don't like is the aluminum magazine floorplate.
It has become a favorite for 200 yard offhand shooting. I can live with the trigger, but a serious target shooter would replace it.
I would offer this rifle as an alternative to the little .30-30 lever action carbines on the market. It is about the same weight and handles just as well.

Why Ruger doesn't chamber the RSI for 7mm-08 and 260 is beyond me.

Doesn't it cost about 2 1/2 times as much as a 30/30 lever gun?

Frankly, it is a damn attractive rifle.  Looks like it would be a great gun in the woods if it were in a little llighter caliber.
