I have a G2 carbine with a 45-70 barrel. I am buying Leupold base and rings for it to mount a Leupold VX II 1-4. I would like to mount the rings on as low of a base a possible, but I am not sure how much room there will be for accessing the hammer extension if I use low bases. Any ideas? :?
