I am looking to improve my Remington 700 ADL 30-06, and wanted to get a good recoil pad to put on it........i saw the R3 recoil pad today, and it really seemed like it would help out alot.........has anyone used this pad, or are their any other recommendations??

Thanx ahead of time!! :D

Remington Recoil Pad??

I don't have an R3 but I do have the new limbsaver pad that the R3 originated from. I have never used a pad that performed that well. The recoil of my 30-06 with 180gr rounds has less felt recoil than a 270 or 308 with lighter bullets. I developed a flinch after shooting slugs through my 12 ga. I couldn't break this until I got one of these pads. Now I can shoot all morning long with no unpleasantness at all, no flinching, and shooting became fun again. If I got another rifle, I wouldn't even consider another pad after using this one. You can get them either prefit for many models or a grind to fit model, both for $30 from Cabelas. The only draw back to an R3 or a regular limbsaver pad is that they are only for synthetic stocks. The grind to fit model might work on wood stocks, but I don't know.
