I just got back from the vet, who confirmed our fears that our beloved dog has brain cancer.  We've had the mutt for 9 years - got her from the pound and she has turned out to be a real jewel.  Don't want her to suffer, don't want to see the wife and kids suffer either....

Sorry to hear about your dog Tom.  My 25 year-old daughter had her dog put down about 2 months ago.  It was difficult for her as her mother and her picked out that dog over 15 years ago and I lost my wife to cancer 6 years ago.  I think my daughter saw the dog as the last tie to her mother.  All I could do is tell my daughter I loved her and pray for her.
