Looking to get into small bore sihlouette shooting.
« on: September 12, 2004, 09:08:07 AM »
I'd like to start shooting a small bore pistol in sihlouette competition and I need to know some names of beginning to intermediate guns and where they are available.  I live in the central valley of the PRC.   Any help will be appreciated.

The most common gun you will see at SB silhouette matches are T/C contenders. T/C now makes a G2 contender, and there are plenty of used original contender frames on the used market. Get a 10" .22lr barrel and you ready to go. Other common SB silhouette guns are the Browning Buckmark and Ruger Mark I/II. If you plan to shoot freestyle, get as long as barrel as you can(8-10"). A shorter barrel will work fine for standing. If you already have a .22 with adjustable sights bring that to your first match and you will be able to get a feel for the sport. More than likely someone will offer you a chance to try out some other guns before you buy one.

Hi Dusty

In the PRC I am not sure what is available new.  I don't think TC or any of the other semicustom single shots are passing the toss em off the roof onto the concrete parking lot safety test ;~)

Ruger still makes the 10 inch mark II.  Call Arnold and have him go kick some girlie man butt ;~)  and get some rational rules back.  quote="Dusty Miller"]I'd like to start shooting a small bore pistol in sihlouette competition and I need to know some names of beginning to intermediate guns and where they are available.  I live in the central valley of the PRC.   Any help will be appreciated.[/quote]
