I just received a new Raging Bull in .44mag. It's a stainless 6.5in one. On inital inspection I was a bit worried because it looked like it was test fired with the worlds dirtiest ammo. After cleaning though the bore and charge holes looked great, smooth and shiny. In general the gun looks very well made, similar to a S&W 629 Classic in workmanship. No tooling marks were apparent. Unlike my old 629, the charge holes aren't chamfered, so cartridges don't drop in quite so easily (the edges are really sharp and tend to grab the case unless the shell is dropped straight in). Has anybody tried rounding off the edges of their cylinder holes or should I take it to a smith? :grin: I test fired the gun last night using Cor-Bon 165gr. defensive rounds, Hornaday 300gr. hunting rounds and some cheap Magtech 240gr shells. This gun is a real pussy cat to shoot. The 165gr felt like a .38, the 240gr were maybe like shooting a .357 and the 300gr were more comfortable than I remember 240s being in my old 6.5in 629. I didn't do much careful shooting to gauge accuracy (having way too much fun), but it seems quite good. I'll post another note when I get a chance to fire from the bench. Anyway, it seems that either the quality of the Raging Bull series is still fine or I got lucky..
