Stainless Ultras
« on: July 19, 2004, 09:27:50 AM »
Has anyone here got the stainless/synthetic handi and replaced the stock with a laminate one?  I like the idea, but wanted to see if any pictures of such where floating around. If so, I would appreciate any posted pics or info.  Is the receiver also stainless?  NEF site partially not working or I would look at their pics.

For the record; I have the 243 ultra bull barrel.  It too shoots well with bullets less than 80 gr, much like others have experienced. I have a good shooter with the 70 gr NBT.  No deer sized (90-100 gr) shoot straight through it, they keyhole and tumble. I would like to try 85 gr BTHP and stretch the upper limit if possible.  Oh, well it just feeds into my craving for additional barrels.  Hey, I like the site here for NEF/H&R talk.  I used to poke in and out of the NEF Site and recognize many.  Thanks GBO.

I always used the Sierra 85 gr BTHP match grade, and IMR 4350. Ive never had a 243 that did not shoot this bullet extremely good. Usually about 1.25" at 200 yds. with a sporter barrel and Win. 70. Hope this helps.Digger
