Action Arms Timber Wolfe .357
« on: September 06, 2004, 08:25:45 AM »
I saw one of these advertised, have never seen one, and I am wondering if this is a decent gun. The pump action in a .357 caliber intrigues me, but I don't want something that isn't a quality gun. Can anyone out there give me any input on quality and function of this make/model? Thanks.
There is no more humbling experience for man than to be fully immersed in nature's artistry.

American Rifleman did a review 10-12 years ago.  They seemed to think it was pretty good.  Noted that the design was almost a direct copy of the Rem 870 shotgun.
Tested as very reliable, moderate accuracy.  As I recall, one problem for law enforcement use was that reloads had to be done with the action opened.

As an alternative; look for a SavageĀ®/StevensĀ® Mdl 170 Pump gun at gun shows. Although no longer made; they were a quality rifle at an INEXPENSIVE (NOT CHEAP, there's a difference) PRICE. Chambered in 30/30Win & 35 Rem as I recall. I've been looking for one since 1987!
