Bought a new Sako. It's a Finlight in 7m-08. Funny how guns "talk" to you. It just would not shut up until I took it home.

Awesome gun...Awesome cartridge.

The Sako Finlight is a high quality rifle. I'm not too hot about their 20" barrels on non-magnum cartridges, but other than that, it's hard for me to not fall in love with them.

As for the 7-08, well, what can I say? I currently own 3 of them, and I'm sure that's not the last.

So what scope do you plan on mounting on it? I trust it must be lightweight so as to keep in character with the rifle.

Very nice choice. Those Sako rifles really do call your name don't they? And like Z said, the 7m08 is a dandy caliber. I think a Conquest would look real nice on that SS barrel. Their silver scope matches perfectly with a SS barrel. Enjoy.

I was thinking of the Conquest. I have a Finlight in 270 with the Zeiss on it and it's my #1 rifle. Right now I put a Verx-X III 3.5x10x40 on it. I took it out to see how it shot and at 50 yards it will make one hole!!! and 100 yards it's going to be better than 3/4 of an inch. I think it might do a little better when I get some handloads for it.

I am a 7-08 fan as well. I think it's about the perfect match for deer.
