Shooting Games for SA shooters...

I guess I have way too much time on my hands according to some friends to think up of stuff like this, but hey, I need to keep myself amused anyways.

I know that End of the Trail Shoots are quite popular, but I was thinking of something more creative.

I have participated in a Snowshoe Biathalon in Vermont. Basically, you would don snowshoes and "run" a course shooting at steel plates. It was a lot of fun. I began to think. What if we had a "Cowboy Biathalon". The rules would be simple. Woodframe snowshoes and SA's. You would have to tramp about 1/2 mile through the snow before you began the course. The first targets would be metal plates at say 25 yards. Five plates. The second set would be another 50 yards down and again five plates at 25 yards. The third set would involve five plates another 50 or so yards down and then set at 50 yards. The final plates would be set a good 150 yards down the trail( you want a bit of a workout to build those shooting muscles   ) and have five plates again at 50 with another five at 100 for the rifle( if you want to include rifles in on the little romp in the snow)

Another idea would be like a Seneca run with SA. You would have to canoe down a river where either on your left or right , five steel plates would be set up within 25 yards. Another set further down the river would be similar. The third would involve a portage of the canoe apporoximately 200 yards where you'ld engage the said steel plates again. Then you would put in the river again and engage the fourth and final set of steel plates.

So. Does anyone like my ideas or do I really have too much time on my hands?

You really have too much time on your hands!<VBG> Actually few people and places have the room and facilities to even attempt what you have in mind let alone let someone shoot from a moving canoe. The liability alone would be a killer. And lets be serious very few people would be strong enough for what you are suggesting. Most would'nt even attempt it. Sorry
As for me I am too disabled to even think about it.

Well I had a little time on my hands and invented Sod Buster Mounted Shooting.

Was pouring a little concrete at my folks farm. Had ta move Grandad's Farmall Mod A. Since it dunt git used much we left it run and I took it fer a little spin around the farm yard. I had my 45 SAA on me hip and rode past me bank of steel targets and let'er rip. Hee Dawgy it was fun - werent easy neither hitten CAS size targets at CAS distance riden a iron horse.
