Baikal O/U Trap Gun

Anyone out here have any experiance with one of these.  I know they are not Berretas or Brownings - they certainly do look nice.  The dealer in Lewiston has sold 53 of them and only had a couple of problems.  What are your thoughts?
Keep shooting muzzleloaders - they are a blast....

I don't know about the trap gun, but I have the sporting clays model that I have put about 500 rounds through.
All I can say is what a AWESOME over & under shotgun for less than 500.00 bucks.   :D

sabotloader,
I own the Baikal MP-153, which is the semi-auto and love it. However, I'd still like to purchase the IZH-27 O/U, too. In my area, I can purchase the O/U for $350 and the semi-auto for $325, so check around before you make your purchase.

There are a few guys in my area that hunt with the Baikal O/U and have no complaints. At a recent sporting clays event, a man purchased his son a Ruger Red Label as a graduation gift, but the son used his graduation gift money to purchase a Baikal O/U and he shoots better with it than he does the Ruger.

It's all about the "fit and feel". A shotgun is an instinctively aimed weapon, so how it fits you and the general feel of it is very important....not the price or name brand.

Good luck with your choices!
Good hunting, Bowhunter57

I've been shooting a Baikal IZH-27 12gauge since the middle of January. Use it for trap & skeet shooting and wouldn't trade it for anything...ok well maybe a Cynergy :)

It shoots sweet, nice balance (slightly nose heavy but I like it like that), and very reliable. I've probably got over 1000 rounds on it so far, and haven't had a problem. My only complaints is that I wish it had a 28" barrel instead of 26", but got Trulock extend chokes in it so that adds a 1/2" to the barrel lenght. Also it was alittle stiff opening, but it's loosening up now... Still notice it if I fire alot of rounds through it quickly. Alot of that is the owner running it dry from lube too.

For the money, I don't think you can't beat it, it may not be the prettiest gun around, but its built solid and shoots great.  I'm thinking about picking up another one in .20gauge.
