help w/dilemma

Yesterday I picked up my two Acusport Bisleys.  Both are 45 LC nib and they have consecutive serial numbers.  I realize they might  be slightly collectible since they're a non-catalog item and have consecutive numbers, but I'd really like to shoot them.  As a matter of fact that's why I bought them, but the FFL dealer I went through talked like he wouldn't shoot them.  I've always said that I'd never buy a gun just to look at it.  Besides they're just begging to be shot.  What would you do?

Personally, I'd shoot and enjoy them.  Fifteen years ago, I was overseas and ordered a shotgun from Weatherby.  I was ready to go back to the States and was concerned the gun wouldn't arrive before I left country.  Called WBY and was assured it would make it.  Sure did, serial number was less than 100, a new model.  Thought about shooting it and finally decided to knock my socks off.  I didn't buy it to resale, I bought it to hunt quail.

I have a limited edition '92 Winchester in .45 Colt with a serial number in the 50's that's already had about 300 rounds of heavy loads through it.

I buy them to shoot.

Shoot it and enjoy it.  I have one, and I do.

I'm not a collector.  If I have one that I'm not shooting anymore, I sell it and buy one that I will shoot.  Shoot them.

The only guns I have that I would not shoot have been in the family so long I am afraid to shoot for safety reasons. I have a couple guns that would have been worth more $ if I had not shot them, but I did, and I do. I don't regret it a bit. Now if I were to scratch them, or if they got rust on them it would ruin my day. So I found similar clunkers that are accurate but not pretty that I don't baby quite so much.

Still haven't shot 'em (yet).  I'm gonna order dies, brass and bullets and have a blast  :-D .  Lloyd, I've seriously thought about having one converted to a 5-shot 480.  They'll just have to sit for now though  :(  !

The only gun I own that I don't shoot, or shoot very, very seldom, is my 1891 vintage Model 1873 Winchester.  I now shoot my Cimarron 1873 instead.

I discussed a 480 5 shot with John Linebaugh since i allready had a .475 but what he said made sense. It cost the same to have it made in .475 and that way you can either run light loads or shoot 480s in it. Brass dies and bullets cost the same either way.

I shot one of them this weekend and was pretty impressed.  One group would've been about 1 1/2" except for a shot that I pulled which opened it up to a 3" group.  At 25 yards I'll still take it   .
