Wow! has 62 years gone by so quickly? It was the summer of 1964, that I graduated from the 7th Army non-commissioned officers school, in Bad Tolz, Germany.
That school, located in the Bavarian Alps at Flint Kaserne, was the Nazi's version of our West Point and training center for SS troops.
When I matriculated there, it was home of the non-commissioned officer's school and the 10th Special Forces. BELOW; see front gate with SS troops marching.
The small city of Bad Tolz is very picturesque, likely the most beautiful city in Germany. Located in the Alps, not too far from Hitler's now demolished Berghof and his still existing "Eagles nest", near Salzburg, Austria, another beautiful vacation destination.
Although part of Bad Tolz was burned in the 1400s, much of the original still remains. ...And the original architectural style still prevails. Note the paintings under the eaves, and with some, paintings at each level on multistory buildings.
Some feature a different tale for each level. For instance, Snow White on second level, with Hansel & Gretel on the third level.... which is where we got the term "story' for differing levels in buildings.
