I watched Pete Hegseths' speech this morning until it became redundant. It was, in my opinion, full of excellent content, and well delivered. And then Trump gave his "me, my, I, best ever, first in history, best in history, and so on, and so on speech. 
Biden needed someone to direct him on how to get off stage, and which way to walk, and someone to basically do his job for him.
Trump on the other hand does a good  job, but needs a moderator with a mike kill switch, and a time limit on telling us how great he is. I voted for him all 3 times, but I'm aware of what he has done, and don't need to be told again,and again, and again, every time he gets hold of a microphone.

Biggest problem with our president is his big mouth. Otherwise he's great!

IMO..What some believe to be braggadocio, I tend to believe is Trump's style of coaching..

  Yes, i watched Pete's speech and thought it to be "spot on" !  It was "just what the doctor ordered", for a military demoralized by the Obama & Obama administrations...both of them !

  This speech was announcing a wholesale shift, back to what the U S armed forces have been, since their inception, back in 1775 ! ...What I woulkd have welcomed to hear when I served, which was long before the recent decline.

   When you want to military to change, talk to the heads...and if those heads don't comply, those heads will roll !

   The latest enlistees can now know that they are entering an honorable and dedicated brotherhood and sisterhood, in the case of real and normal men and women.

  No misfits needed..

   ..But I don't think Pete's message stops there.. the rest will be discussed behind closed doors. Personally, I believe this is also a "shot across the bow", for the EU to
    start acting like they believe in western culture enough to fight for it !

 I call it the east coast ego syndrome. Especially around the NJ, NY and eastern PA area's. More blowhard's that say, I can do anything you can do and better and cheaper, and faster- anda- anda-anda they go on. Trump is past the point of putting a muffler on it, best thing to do is put the mute button on and go get a beer. If he's still talking when you get back, go get the chips and take your time.

   Could well be, I know many of those I served with who were from NY City, were an abrasive bunch. Yes, Trump was raised in NY City and apparently had adopted some
    of this, NY City jargon.

  However, Pres Trump has proven to be perhaps one of the most effective men of today's world, but to his credit...that gusto is what gets things done !

   So let's just enjoy and appreciate what he has already accomplished, despite the boastfulness..

   Meanwhile, Hegseth in the last few minutes of his speech seems to be taking us back to the old "brown boot" Army, so far as iron discipline is concerned..

Pretty good guess all here but a few have voted Trump in the past, Best President in my lifetime. I have learned when he is at a rally, news conference or whatever to wait for the initial information to come out then turn off the channel and tune in something else.

Trump has a narcissistic character. Its part of him that makes him a good president.  I have known other men that are narcissists that seem to get leadership roles.

I don't disagree that he's a good president, I agree concerning his narcissistic ego is what kept him engaged when so many were trying to take him out. Not many men these days would have withstood that much stress.
But some of the best leaders I've seen over my lifetime were quite, direct, and all business. But I'm with Goldie on Trumps rallies, and news conferences. 10 minutes! Got it! Later dude.
