Let me introduce myself to this forum.  :D  I am Dave Williams/VTDW a refugee from Marlin Talk.  GB has so kindly offered to let me be the moderator on this forum.

Marlin Talk is where I hung out for over a year while learning about new 336W my wife bought me for my b-day in Dec of 2002.  While there I learned much from the good folks.  So much so that I got a case of Marlinitis and bought myself a used 444S vintage 1978 and do love that gun.  Many Marlin Talkers have become good Internet friends.  Some of us have gone to the shooting range together, hunted together and some more of us will be hunting together in March in S. Texas.

Marlin Talk is gone and now I am expanding my horizons and have found that there are many forums that have like minded folks that have lots of experiences and tips they are more than willing to share with a 'pilgrim' like me.

My favorite forum on Marlin Talk was the Outdoor Experiences.  There were never a lot of posts there but those that were posted were always interesting and I always enjoyed them and learned from them.  Please do not hesitate to post your experiences because you don't think you can write.  Great writing skills are not necessary to tell a story or experience.

I am looking forward to hearing about your adventures.

Dave/VTDW :-)

You could not possibly know about the cougar story - VTDW and I went hunting and I was set up and made to look very  . . . lets say naive.

Nanook,

You know it was all in fun.  I will take mine when it is due.  Why don't you write the cougar story for us and be sure not to leave out the radio comments. :)

Nanook,

If you re-read this thread you will see that I offered you the opportunity to tell your panther story fair and square.  Last chance.
