Baked bean sandwiches..
« on: March 20, 2023, 11:40:38 AM »
Baked bean sandwiches seem to be a current staple in the UK, but they are not alone..

I sometimes will choose such a thing for a meal.  I will normally use a flavorful bread with equally flavorful beans.
Put the beans between the slices ..add Mayo on one side, and you have some good fare.

Sometimes I will do the same with toast, eating them from the plate, with knife and fork.

There have been hints toward our Plymouth Pilgrims having enjoyed that fare on Sundays.

I don't know how the Brits became to build enthusiasm for baked bean sandwiches, since it seems the major brand of beans there are Heinz brand.
Never mind it would be befitting John and Teresa... those beans are flavorless IMO.

But here is how the Brits do it..

If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

Well I do eat Mexican Rice and Refried Beans on toast , so I can imagine Baked Beans would not be bad at all. 8)

I've had beans on bread many times, It's pretty good.

In fact, I'm about to put some dry Pinto beans in my pressure cooker today to have later on with baby backs, and also to turn a few of them into bean dip..
