Another Hollyweird actor defends Baldwin
« on: January 31, 2023, 02:03:16 AM »
Some actor named Mickey Rourke, claims there is no way Baldwin should be convicted.

 https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/mickey-rourke-declares-no-way-hell-alec-baldwin-should-be-charged-fatal-rust-shooting

Here, from the article, is part of Rourke's statement:

" "Most actors don’t know anything about guns especially if they didn’t grow up around them. Alec didn’t bring the gun to the set from his house or his car, when weapons are involved on a movie set, the guns are supposed to he handled only by the 'weapon armor'."

The "Wrestler" star went on to explain, "In some cases the 1st AD might pass a gun to an actor, but most of the time the gun is handed to the actor directly by the 'gun armor'. There’s what armor’s job is on the set. To have an expert around any type of dangerous weapon."

Frankly, I think that indicts Baldwin even more!  If you don't know shat about guns, it behooves you to darn well learn about them, before you point one at anybody..and pull the trigger !!!

..And yes, that was a single action colt..he HAD to pull the trigger.

Sure, the so-called "armorer' was at fault, but so was Baldwin, since he didn't double check.

Looks like Rourke and his interviewer both a bit confused also, saying "armor" in place of "armorer"..

The man at fault. Is the man that pulled the trigger. The man that pulled the trigger,  is the man that is responsible for the handling of the pistol. I don't care about Hollywood film set protocol, set armorors, ect.

And I don't care about what other actors think. About anything.

People get shot every day all over the United States, accidentally, and on purpose,  and you seldom hear about it.

An idiot actor shoots a producer,  and its in the news (and here) for the next year.

Agreed Dee... the Hollywood hogsters make billions by pretending to use guns freely and shoot everything in sight.
Thereby convincing some lame-brained juveniles in blue cities , that shooting people you disagree with, is is the way to go.

Then, once the shooting in Baltimore, St Louis or Los Angeles commences, they come around and piously
condemn gun ownership by honest folks like you, I and others here on GBO.

Not surprisingly, these actors, who spend their days pretending they are somebody other than who they really are,
try to speak as firearms authorities...when as they did in this case, admit they don't know scat about guns.

I watched Hollywooders shoot each other growing up myself. The difference was, and is, I had parents with sense, that didn't hand me a phone, an XBox, and tell me to entertain myself.

I am not at all surprised. What did surprise me is that Baldwin was even charged.

IG.....
As much as we think Baldwin is a jerk, I think he'll be acquitted by reasonable doubt of criminal charges. Proper firearm handling rules are not laws. And his interview with Stephanopoulos was not given under oath.
Expect his defense to bring in movie makers, such as Eastwood, Spielberg, Scorcese; who will testify that prop gun handling and preparation is always the responsibility of the professional armorer on set, and the actor's responsibility is to concentrate on setting the mood and carrying the scene. And yes, sometimes firearms are pointed directly into cameras for real effects..
Btw, I believe Halcyna Hutchin's husband has settled any civil cases and now is the executive producer of the movie!
.

You didn't hear me say I thought he would be convicted he guy who talked about the case on Newsmax this morning went on about the importance of his ability, the movies etc.
Yeah, we all know that is a bunch of crap. but the chances he will serve any time, no matter how negligent..
  Are realistically   ..quite nil.

I suppose Rourk thinks his opinion matters more than most others. In fact his opinion doesn't matter at all. He is just one of many clueless Hollywood actors.

Mickey is kind of a has-been and needed to get his name in the news.

There was good cartoon in Sunday's paper about Baldwin. In the first panel there was a guy saying "I stand behind Baldwin", in the second panel he was shown standing behind behind him and saying, "It's much safer that way".  ;D

Baldwin claimed he didn't fire the gun, it just went off by it's self. The FBI proved it couldn't do that. Crickets from Baldwin afterward.

Yep, and a lot of old actors do the same thing. Most of them have narcissist tendency's, so when they age and are no longer wanted as an actor. They have a hard time handling that, and try to find ways to be noticed. Its why also a lot of them spend millions on plastic surgery. They can't handle getting old.

"Yep, and a lot of old actors do the same thing."

They certainly do. I saw a few days ago where Brooke Shields, long past her use by date and doing basically nothing now, claimed she was raped during her twenties. Who really cares? She kept her mouth shut about it all these years and now brings it up? If it upset her she should have brought up when it happened, not after all these years.

Exactly how was Brooke raped, was it on the set of The Blue Lagoon? Those two teenage looking kids ran around half naked in that movie anyway. Completely nude in the swimming scenes. I saw where she was saying something about it.

I think that both Baldwin, and the so called weapons expert, a Hannah Gutierrez-Reed should both be charged and sent away for a few years. Far as I'm concerned, this like a friend who's sober, letting a friend that's drunk, drive the car. Baldwins idiot, and she's no weapons expert!
