Double whammy
« on: December 30, 2022, 05:26:44 AM »
Wife and I got our flu shots the first of November just like we always do. Mine didn't work. I got to feeling bad late yesterday afternoon and spent most of the night coughing but it just quit about 4 AM. My wife had a doctor's appointment early this morning and I took her although I felt like crap. Doctor asked what was wrong with me while we were in his office and I told him I just ached in my chest and shoulders. Out came the swabs and I have flu. While I was typing this the phone rang and my wife informed me I also tested positive for covid. Funny thing is I feel better right now than anytime since this hit. Tamaflu for the flu and if I start having trouble breathing go to the ER immediately.

I am blaming this on my grand daughter in law and her son as they both got sick right after Christmas Eve and we were together all day.

Alot of flu shots are mRNA now, and polyvalent.
But they won't tell you that. And good luck finding out.
.

Not the same old flu shot?  Fill us in please.

I never trusted the flu shot since they always so eager to give them to people. I guarantee they don't give a crap whether you get the flu or even die for that matter. So I never had one, and never will have one. they are coming out with the same BS they did with covid. Help save others. Get your flu shot. If the flu shot works so well and someone is worried about getting the flu. Go get your shot. Don't expect me to get one to help keep you from getting it.  My trust in big pharma and our government is about zero.

Oh, horse pucky. The flu shot has been around for many years and, no, it isn't 100% effective. It's a guess each year what variant will show up so sometimes it is less effective than other years. I have been getting a flu shot every fall for at least 40 years and this is only my second failure. I guess smallpox and polio vaccines were no good either by some people's thinking. I can remember summers before the polio vaccine arrived and the streets of my little town were almost deserted when we had to drive in and get groceries. Unlike the covid thing that uses us as human guinea pigs the others went through a long process to determine if they were safe and effective before their use was allowed on the general public.

Do what you want. It's you that have to live with your decisions.

I’ve read many articles recently that say the jab increased covid infection, hospitalization and death.

Also, oldandslow. Yeah, I know you did not take the covid jab...

And I won't. Ever. Only one example but my sister-in-law had the covid shot and a booster. Then she caught covid and was hospitalized and was so bad the doctors had said to call in the family as she wasn't going to make it. She is a tough old gal, fooled them, and is still with us.

I've never had another flu shot since my one and only back in the mid '60s. It went horribly wrong and I got seriously ill from it. Was bad allergic to it.

I've not had a flu shot since and have had the flu once in all of those years. Tamiflu whipped it right quick.

My last flu shot was in 1977, got healthy and the same week missed three day of work with the flu.

I have not had the flu since; there is some thing going around that I call Bronchitis because I had it and it acted like Bronchitis which up to age 13 I had every darn year.
No headache, not hard to breath, no running nose, but coughing up stuff for days.

It is odd when you are coughing that crap up continually but you have zero problems taking a deep breath.
I did find out when you got that stuff, going outside in sub-zero weather gives you a short coughing fit, then it goes away.
It is gone now.
