I don't go to sleep easily, so on my bedside stand are 2 books, 1) The Holy Bible 2) Another book from which I can LEARN something.
I usually read 1 or 2 chapters from theBible...then follow with a goodly portion of a chapter for a knowledge stimulating book.
Last night, I finished the book "House to House", by Medal of Honor holder David Bellavia. Bellavia got into some real deep "stuff" there in Al Anbar Province. Heavy. heavy action..right down to actual tooth-and-claw fighting.

He fought in many of the same towns, seeing similar action.
While most don't see quite as much action as MOH holder Bellavia, all combat troops saw much action. My grandson, Josh served in that same "Sunni Triangle".. When he did mention house-to-house fighting, he only described it as "a real adrenalin rush"..
With Memorial Day fast approaching...here's a tip of the hat to Sgt Bellavia and Sgt Josh..along with the millions who have served our nation.
Sgt Bellavia, now a radio talk host, can be heard on WBEN Buffalo, mornings 9-12. If you hav eone of those Alexis thingamajigs, you can ask for radio 930 or WBEN..and you will connect.
Sgt Josh... Now a weapons specialist..working for NATO.
