I quit the SBC years ago. Organized religion is bad for Christianity IMO! So they chose a Moderate (Socialist) to lead them.....No surprise there!
Much depends upon what is meant by "organized" religion. I am sure of course, that you didn't mean the polar opposite, being a "disorganized" religion.
There is an old joke among Baptists which goes....." I'm a Baptist, so I don't belong to any organized religion!"

Actually, there is a proper place for some organization, even be it a very small, home study group.
The fellowship of believers is very important. Without that fellowship, we tend to slide backward in our spiritual walk. Scripture tells us not to "the gathering of ourselves together".
not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. (Heb 10:25) Sola scriptura has been a hallmark of active, dynamic church. Just as in the OT times, we are encouraged to share and examine the scriptures on a regular basis. The Bible itself tells us that the written word is there for doctrine, correction, and instruction on righteousness.
Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, (2 Tim 3:16) Some sects don't want the people to read the Bible..that is flat wrong. Instead, we should each become as familiar with the Bible as we can .
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Tim 2:15) We should engage in discussions, that is how we come to the best conclusions.
Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.
(Prov 11:14)
