Fire Weed Salad

Any of you fellows ever had or made one? I see on Life below Zero and alone in the Wilderness show that they mention Fire weed salad Really don't know if we have fire weed in Oklahoma I have seen some pictures but that is all.

What we call fire weed here in Nebraska is kotia, dont know if that is the same stuff they are talking about

No that is not it the ones I have seen pictures of have a pinkish red flower on it and leaves they use it in salads or some of the back to the land or off grid  types do. I saw a show today about the Rainey family on discovery channel and one of the ladies had prepared a complete dinner from things gathered from their 40 acers  in Alaska and I must say it really looked good but then you need to know what to pick and what is good to eat which I am not.
