nice to know that they were well made. have one im refinishing right now
a 91/30 that cosmoline is a real PITA to clean off the wood

Convinced me they can be pretty rock solid. Have a '38 Izzy myself, but with the post war stock with the spliced toe. That toe is about the only thing I don't like about it... I'd expect it to come of smashing things like cinder blocks, LOL!

This one convinces me the they can be nearly as fast as a lever gun.

I'm beginning to wonder if the added screws and complexity of a lever gun is worth it... must get an M44 or M38 instead and not worry about it.

But that assumes it's an honest video and not sped up in any way. I'd swear some folks do speed them up or take frames out.
