Boy Suspended for Bringing Swiss Army Knife on School Camping Trip

 And it was really a very small knife. I doubt I ever went to school without a pocket knife and to go camping without a knife would be ridiculous, what is with these pathetic losers?
 
A 10-year-old California boy was suspended and threatened with expulsion  after he brought a Swiss Army Knife on a week-long school school camping  trip.
Tony Bandermann told Fox News that his son Braden was on a science camping  trip with his class at Garden Gate Elementary School in Cupertino, Calif.

According to a school incident report, the boy showed the small knife to  other students who then reported him to teachers. The incident report stated  that law enforcement was also notified. However, no charges were filed.
Bandermann, who was out-of-town on a business trip, said he received a  telephone call from the school’s principal informing him that his son had  violated the school’s weapons policy. The punishment, she told him, must be  immediate and severe.
“She threatened to expel him,” he said. “She kept telling me, ‘you can’t  bring a weapon to school.’ A Swiss Army Knife is a tool not a weapon.”
Since he was unable to pick up his son, the principal put the boy in 24-hour  isolation at the camp – held in a teacher’s lounge where he was forced to eat  and sleep in solitude.

While I agree that the rules are a overboard (I have always carried a pocket knife, even in school), we all know the rules of todays schools.  I have always believed that you can ignore rules that are wrong, but if you do and are caught, you don't have any complaint when you have to suffer the consequences.  I.e., if they have made it a crime and you do the crime, expect to do the time.

What were those idiot parents thinking? They're Californians. They should have realized this would happen.
 
As to the camping trip, what is that all about? Schools have no business engaging in waste like that. A camp with a teacher's lounge? Gimme a break!

We must make the decision to live in fear if we are to be governed by The Powers That Be.
The Powers That Be don't want us to realize that we have made a "subconscious" decision to live in fear when we are young and influenced mainly by school and media and the group pressure of peers.

If we make a "conscious" decision to not live in fear we can make reasonable and just decisions of and on our own.

Kinda reminds me of the hitler youth the way kids are brainwashed by libbys. They were taught to turn in their parents or other loved ones, for the good of the party.
We had school campouts when I was a kid, everybody had a knife, nobody ever got hurt or even threatened. The difference in kids today?? Libby teachers raised by libby parents, but the biggest thing was that God was a part of our lives and our educational system. God isn't welcome there anymore, the result is stories like this one. I wonder if fires or those dangerous weiner sticks were allowed?? Somebody might get stabbed ya know.  Thank a liberal today. POWDERMAN.

 ~8 years ago when My Son was in Cub Scouts we went to a BSA camp (yes, in CA) with the pack for the weekend. Right in the camp rules it stated "No folding knives permitted." I about gagged...

One of my school mates did get a scar from a flaming marshmallow, that thing stuck and burned like napalm, but she didn't sue anybody and our school didn't ban marshmallows.
