Just got my first Mora knife! I've been missing out on a great knife for many, many years. I bought the Mora Robust in the carbon steel blade. It came almost razor sharp, and with a few strops it was.I'm impressed with the feel and quality of this knife at the price I paid. 14.00 shipped.
I understand they make most models in stainless as well, and will probably try one of them also. I have big hands, and the oversize moulded handle of the Robust fits perfect. A Man can't have too many guns and knives, and I think it's time to add to the blade collection

they sure don't have any junk.
for the price, they can't be beat.
( i'm saying that including frosts,
mora, marttiini, and the others)
i only wish they offered some flat ground
blades also instead of all scandi-ground

My butcher kit is all Mora knives now. The Robust is great razor sharp thick blade, over sized textured handle handle and carbon steel blade sharpens and retains an edge. I have a 711 with the longer blade for boning and cutting. A stainless High Q travels in my pack for all weather conditions and I have yet to see anything to gripe about as far as the stainless blades. My utility knife is a well made sharp little knife that is not as comfortable as the others but just as sharp and travels in the jeep for that grab a knife situation that arises often in the woods or river. The Frost Clipper is the least favorite I have. Thin blade and short tang it feels cheaper than the others but it will get some use.

Interesting that this thread should appear here so recently. It just so happens I picked up my first Mora (i think its called the "companion") at a gun/knife show just yesterday. Good quality, good overall fit and finish, very affordable price - makes for one great value in a utility/bushcraft knife. I just used it earlier today to trim out some round steaks for supper - a very sharp knife, indeed. I will definitely be buying more of these!

They're hard to beat for the price. I bought a few carbon steel "clipper" models from Sportsman's Guide when they were on sale for $6 about 5 years ago. I thought I'd consider them mainly as disposable or givaways (and at that price, I could), but even the one I keep handy in the garage for everything from cutting carpet to gardening is still going strong after fairly heavy use and several sharpenings.
I've since got a few different styles here...

One could put together a $150 collection of the various sizes/styles Moras and not be lacking for much in the way of practical fixed blades.

Im still thinking about ordering a few more Mora knives. I'm really happy with the one I bought, so far. You really cant beat the price, and they're far better quality than the generic 'Made in China' cutlery you usually run into.

another great one is martiini. i got one new with sheath for $19.99 from great smoy mtn knifeworks and it was very sharp and stayed that way thru 4 deer before having to resharpen which only too about 3 swipes to do. they come with a basic unfinished wood handle so i dipped mine several times i a can of clear finish. i dipped til it went bout 1/4in up on the blade to keep blood and water from soakig ito the wood. it has been an incredible knife and has turned a bunch of my hunting buddies against all the high priced name bfand crap.
