Salary of retired US Presidents .............$180,000 FOR LIFE

Salary of House/Senate .......................$174,000 FOR LIFE This is stupid

Salary of Speaker of the House .............$223,500 FOR LIFE This is really stupid

Salary of Majority/Minority Leaders ....... $193,400 FOR LIFE Ditto last line

Average Salary of a teacher ............... $40,065

Average Salary of Soldier DEPLOYED IN AFGHANISTAN ....... $38,000

I think we found where the cuts should be made!

KIMBER. I believe that I read that elsewhere and that is correct. When these peoples job is over their pay should STOP, and they should go back to what they formerly did or find another paying job. You bet theres a lot of waste there. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:(

That is why we need term limits and no retirement benefits for all elected officials.  Up until Truman, no government official got a retirement.
