  A Detroit city council member is asking President Obama to bail out the financially troubled city in return for residents’ overwhelmingly supporting his successful re-election bid.
“There ought to be a quid pro quo," said Councilwoman JoAnn Watson, according to My Fox Detroit.

Nearly 75 percent of voters in Wayne County, which includes Detroit, voted for Obama on Nov. 6.

"After the election of Jimmy Carter, the honorable Coleman Alexander Young, he went to Washington, D.C., and came home with some bacon," Watson said. "That's what you do," Watson said.

Young was Detroit's mayor for 20 years and served as vice chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 1977 to 1981.

The White House has expressed no plans to bail out the cash-strapped city that some experts say could go bankrupt by the end of the year.
Michigan officials began state oversight of Detroit six months ago to help the city avoid bankruptcy. But the city-state advisory board says Mayor Dave Bing, a Democrat, needs to move faster in his reform of city agencies and services to avert the city’s financial meltdown.
According to My Fox Detroit, the federal government has helped cities in the past, including President Gerald Ford in 1975 extending more than $2 billion in credit to New York City to help it avoid a financial collapse.

very true, and the 75% who voted for obama in detroit were probably on the public dole and pay no taxes.  I would guess that the only small business left there is your corner drug dealer.

And Hussein Obama and his party are doing their best to duplicate it at the federal level.  Actually, we're already there; it just hasn't sunk in yet.  I've heard it said that it would take about 31,000 years to count to 16 trillion.  Maybe by then we'll realize how far in the dung pit we are.

It is something isn't it. Many cities have been bankrupt for a long time, and have been ruled by marxist democrats for a long time, but people keep electing them, because they could care less if the city treasury is broke. As long as people are getting their needs from government they will continue to elect the same people. Obama would have lost PA by a large amount if it wasn't for Philadelphia and a few counties around it. Some precincts went for Obama by 100% How the heck does that happen?
As long as we have a nanny state there are going to be democrats, but the nanny state can't grow much bigger, because we are out of money, and in crippling debt.

We are too far past, to recover what once was, and although I would have not believed it 5 years ago, internal strife I believe, is on the way to a neighborhood near you. Obama went to a church that taught "Black Liberation Theology" and it was no accident that his Pastor was the radical Jeremiah Wright. Obama may be the one everyone has talked about for years. He might possibly be the one that will not leave, and to force him out after this term, should he decide to stay, could result in a fight. With "Black Liberation Theology" as a basis for belief, he (Obama) and others would believe he "deserves to stay", as the person following this "theology" believes that Christ was a "person of color", and was driven out of power, and executed, and it is time for "redemption".

Yeah Dee, I agree with ya. Its over. There is going to be turmoil and strife, and you are correct many don't believe it, nor can they see it coming. There will be a point when many will awake from their slumber and say "hey what happened" I used to like to believe that the Republicans were doing whats right. They were something I looked to, to make America right, but they certainly have fallen into doing whats good for them, and not whats good for America, or the people. Its very sad to watch this country die, and I don't worry for my own being, but I'm concerned what my children and grandchildren will have to bear.

I really do believe there is a good chance of Obama staying in power.
Congressional Amendment for a 3rd term? What is our Constitution now? Its certainly not followed anymore. Once Obama appoints a couple more Communists to the SC, it will be all over, except the crying and gnashing of teeth. The Marxist/Communists won. Our Constitutional Republic lost.

     Yellowtail check your history in 1966/67 Detroit was a war zone called the long hot summer, they were burning their OWN neighborhoods and Looting others, you can go into Detroit even today and you will see whole blocks under fence where the bulldozed whole blocks of homes down you will even see a block with 2 or 3 houses still standing the vacant lots are where homes stood at one time, why should the rest of the country have to pay for others ignorance,  BTW I heard Detroit only had 3 million in researve, that wont go far so keep watching and maybe someone will buy it and change the name of the town.  Jim

When Coleman Young was elected mayor of Detroit it began a downward spiral the continues to this day. Coleman Young once said that a black man could not discriminate, that all blacks were victims of discrimination.

If not for the 'discrimination' of slavery todays "BLACK- Americans" would be residing in Africa, living in mud and straw huts, toting AK47s, engaging in tribal warfare, cutting off arms, noses, ears and lips.

No matter how bad todays Negro has it in the USA, they are worlds better off than if their ancestors had never left the Dark Continent.

It seems to me that the majority of 'blacks' think they are owed something rather than having to work as everyone else does
