. Very nice find CW, that 142A caught my eye as a familiar rifle. Made from 47 through 57 I think. The early ones had the case hardened T-handle. They share the 7rd mag as a bunch of other mossburgs made from the early 40's through the 60's and their not to hard to find. My 140K models clip is identical to the 142A's, owned by my great uncle. He bought it at a hardware store in 1957 upon learning he had cancer. He drove to a hilltop near malone N.Y and shot himself in the head with it. All I can say is that caliber is not a good one for commiting suicide but it killed him eventually. I received the as new rifle from an uncle in 1995. Its been shot once according to him. It looks new and I haven't done anything but clean it occasionally since then. Real neat little carbine. Thanks for the post, hadn't thought about that rifle in years. J
