This maybe old new, but Buds is showing a 20in  44mag with a superlight stock set.  SB1-SY4

Don't let the "Superlight" moniker fool ya, it just has a youth stock on it, I bought one early last year hoping for a light contour barrel, but it has a standard contour barrel!  ::) I put it on an SB2 frame and rechambered it to 444 Marlin then milled the barrel octagon making it a real Superlight!  ;D

Wasn't sure if that was another Bud's description/image mismatch or if it was for real.
 
Tim, that octagon barrel idea seems lke a remedy to the overly meaty .357s of current production.  Now, y' got me thinkin'.

I like compact, but not light. I prefer a meaty gun, I have a standard 22" .44 Mag barrel on the way... It is being chopped to 18" and braked and then being fitted to an SB2 frame on a Boyd's Sterling stock set finished in Textured black... This is gonna be my ultra close range brush gun. I have another thread going on Trail Boss loads... I just purchased 300 grain bullets to work up a subsonic load for the .44, that will carry sufficient energy for close range deer.
