The American Creed
« on: October 18, 2012, 03:07:35 PM »
‎"I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the People, by the People, for the People; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a Republic; a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect Union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I, therefore, believe it is my Duty to my Country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws; to respect its Flag; and to defend it against all enemies."~The American Creed~
"Brother, you say there is but one way to worship and serve the Great Spirit. If there is but one religion, why do you white people differ so much about it? Why not all agreed, as you can all read the Book?" Sogoyewapha, "Red Jacket" - Senaca

I wish everyone thought that way.

but our country has a president who hates it.  his pastor prayed for God to damn America.

can we return to the days when people actually followed that creed??

The change back to the old original values will require the changeing of, at present, a majority of values. The scale, values,  has to be rebalanced in one way or another. How will it be accomplished? ear

it saddens me, but the truth is
there are a whole lot of apathetic
folks who don't know the pledge
of allegiance or the national anthem
and could care less or about what goes on
as long as the checks keep coming and
the lights and water are on.  >:(

‎ ...a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States

If that were reality today, Patriots would have a chance to literally 'gain ground' and turn the tide for the entire Nation.

Unfortunately, when The American Creed was written in 1918, we were already half a century past the point of no return as far as States' sovereignty  goes.
