Japanese Sword mystery
« on: October 20, 2012, 08:18:58 AM »

well this was my 1st sharp sword i got and i had it for some time and i have no idea were it came from. I was at a storage locker sale and in a pile of clothes i was digging there was this sword. anyone have any idea who made it?  i know it's a ninjato because it's  a thick  and heavy straight blade. I used a magent to check if it has a full tang and the tang ends at the end cap on the bottom of the handle, so it's full tang.

i found out what it is.  i was told it's  Burmese Dha. Though those tend to have a slight curve to them. they guess is it is Thai or Burmese in origin from the general design of it. But likely made for a western market rather than for sale in the country of origin.
