bad luck
« on: September 14, 2012, 08:22:42 AM »
I recieved my new handi rifle back from a barrel fitting and all looked great. This morning I put a scope on the 223 barrel and was going test some loads. First round was a FTF, recocked and again nothing. I waited a couple minutes and removed the round, no dent in the primer. My first thought was the primer was seated too deep and I tried another nothing no primer dent. Checking the rifle the transfer bar moves down as soon as the hammer begins moving forward. I found in the FAQ's a discussion of this problem, the solution being lengthening the pin that connects the trigger to the transfer bar. Called H&R they are sending a call tag to pick up the rifle, the man I spoke with seemed to understand the problem and said it would be repaired or replaced and to send both barrels for testing. I am a little disappointed in not being able to use the rifle but such is life. H&R did a great job on getting the barrel fitted and back to me in a short time. I am sure they will fix the problem, just a bit of bad luck.

That is too bad, it does happen from time to time.
