Like every other poster in this gallery I am a new guy here. Currently living in the Black Hills of South Dakota, and hope to stay for awhile.
I have recently developed a more enthusiastic desire to hunt, even though I did not grow up doing much of it. I guess moving to a more rural area has its benefits. I also enjoy fishing, but don't own a boat since I have a friend that owns a boat. Lucky me.
Prior to moving to the Black Hills I lived in, and was raised in Missouri. I have also had the pleasure of serving in the Untied States Marine Corps from 1998-2004, with one tour in Iraq. While in the Corps I served as an assault man (0351) in an infantry battalion. I also have a back ground in competitive shooting, both on my own time and as a shooter for Missouri State University on the pistol team. I stupidly did not shoot until my last year of college in 2002-2003, but we still managed to finish out 8th overall in the nation and I was one of the two top shooters on the team. Sadly I am not as good as I once was, but I suppose not shooting a thousand rounds per week in practice will tend to lower one's skill set.
Recently I have been bitten by the big bore revolver bug, after receiving a Freedom Arms M83 Premier Grade in .454 as a Christmas gift from my wife. It is the only revolver that I own, which I admit is a bit odd, given the price and recoil/power level of the gun. I also own some other fairly nice firearms:
1.) Benelli MP95E .22lr (my rimfire match pistol)
2.) Kimber Super Match II .45ACP (my centerfire match pistol)
3.) Kimber M82 Govt' Target .22lr (single shot position target rifle)
4.) SIG Sauer P229 .357SIG (defense/carry gun)
5.) Cooper M57 .22lr with a Leupold 2.5-8X36 VX-III (small game and centerfire understudy)
6.) Cooper M52 Jackson Hunter .280AI with a Swarovski 3-10X42 (primary hunting rifle)
7.) CMMG AR-15 with an Aimpoint (I don't like this rifle and it will be going away soon)
8.) Freedom Arms M83 Premier 6" bbl .454 Casull (currently on way to factory for action job, and spare .45ACP cylinder)
