.404 Jeffrey in Model 70
« on: May 26, 2012, 06:10:17 PM »
Call me impetuous.

Call me irresponsible.

Call me nuts.

My latest idea is to have my M-70 .375 H&H  re-barreled to .404 Jeffrey.  Any ideas about this?  Has anyone ever done it?

Can I use cast bullets in the .404?

 Would appreciate any feedback.

When I had my .404 J made up on a lengthened Mod 98, I spoke with marshal stanton at beartooth bullets. At the time he didn't have the mold. I paid for a mold, which he kept after making me some 400gr bullets. I highly recommend Beartooth. In fact, for American use, the cast bullet is the way to go, ut I would opt for a 350gr.
